Male infertility tests are important to determine if you are capable of producing an offspring with your partner or not. There are three common tests that your doctor might recommend. These are:

1.    Testicle biopsy - This is one of the general test where most of the doctors like to undergo first, that is done by taking a small sample of tissue from one or both of your testicles to be examined under a microscope and assess whether you are capable of fathering children, therefore it determines the cause of your infertility.

2.    Vasograms - Another  useful test is the  vasogram. This is recommended when your doctor suspects that there is a blockage in your reproductive duct. This infertility test is done to indicate the location of the blockage. Once it is find clearly , blockage can be treated through surgery.

3.    Sperm count - You will also be asked to provide a sample of your semen to check the sperm count. Any count that is below 10 million should be a cause for concern.

She is Louise Brown of England. Since then many treatment methods came into existence for various male and female infertility causes.

What is In Vitro Fertilization or IVF Treatment?

IVF is a procedure in which a woman’s eggs are combined with a man’s sperm outside the body in a lab dish. The special culture in the dish allows the sperm and eggs to survive outside the woman’s body.  The culture in the dish will be kept in an incubator, and this will be monitored on a timely basis for fertilization and cell division to occur. The eggs will be transferred to the woman’s body when the eggs have developed into 2-8 cell embryos. For all these process it will take up to five days.

Causes of Infertility man and women

Different causes of male and female infertility

In this modern world infertility is not a new term. Now-a-days one out of five couples is childless and this number is rising in an alarming rate. Childlessness and infertility are no longer a private sorrow. Every newly married couple is joining in the group, and there is a 50% jump in infertility in the urban society. Earlier the cause of infertility was thought to be mainly because of issues in the female. With the growth of science male infertility and its causes also came into light. Due to female and male infertility issues the childlessness rate is growing at a disturbing rate.

Causes of infertility in women

Malfunctioning of fallopian tubes – Fallopian tubes fail to function properly due to infections like tuberculosis, abdominal diseases, previous surgeries or congenital defects. Appendicitis and colitis are the common types of abdominal diseases that cause inflammation of the abdominal cavity which can affect the fallopian tubes and blockage. About 20% of infertility in women is due to defects in fallopian tubes.

Failure to ovulate- The absence of ovulation has so many reasons and symptoms. While some causes can be treated with drugs, some can be cured by changing the life style. Some treatable causes are hypothalamic anovulation, hyperprolactinemia and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Uterine and cervical factors – More than 50% of infertility in women can be attributed to these two factors. Uterine related causes can be congenital or pathology related. We can call it congenital when there is a complete or incomplete septum or bicornuate uterus. Meanwhile, the occurrence of fibroids, polyps and adenomyosis can be attributed to the occurrence of pathogens in the uterine wall.
Among cervical factors the commonly seen factor is hormonal imbalance. Due to hormonal imbalance the cervical mucus will become thick and this prevent the swimming of sperm up to the fallopian tube. These are the main reasons for infertility in women

Causes of infertility in men

Infertility in men can be due to a variety of disorders ranging from hormonal disturbances to physical problems, to psychological problems to changing lifestyle. A sudden change in the lifestyle has a critical role in sterility. Some of the common reasons that negatively impact male fertility are as follows:-

-    Continuous smoking will decrease sperm count and sperm motility
-    Prolonged use of stimulating drugs like marijuana, hashish, charas
-    Consumption of alcohol
-    Use of steroids
-    Intense workouts to have a well-built body.  Intense exercise produces high levels of adrenal steroid hormones. This hormones cause a testosterone deficiency that results in infertility.
-    Wearing tight under clothes increases body temperature.
-    Excessive stress
-    Malnutrition and anemia

A small percentage of infertility is due to hormonal problems.  Some of the common hormonal problems are hyperprolactinemia, hypothyroidism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypogonadotropic, hypopituitarism and panhypopituitarism.
